1 Dead, 2 Hospitalized after Traffic Collision on Pacific Coast Highway [Newport Beach, CA]

Two-Vehicle Collision on Pacific Coast Highway Resulted in One Fatality

NEWPORT BEACH, CA (November 23, 2022) – Sunday night, police responded to a fatal two-vehicle collision on Pacific Coast Highway.

The crash happened at around 8:00 p.m., November 20th, in the 3300 block of westbound lanes, between Hoag Drive and Riverside Avenue.

Furthermore, according to police, a Mercedes-Benz rear-ended a parked box truck that has no occupants at that time.

Unfortunately, the male driver of the Mercedes was pronounced dead at the scene and two other occupants needed extrication and were transported to Mission Hospital.

Meanwhile, the current conditions of the two injured victims are not available at this time.

Authorities closed the road for approximately four hours to allow for cleanup and preliminary duties. The cause of the crash is yet to be determined.

An active investigation into the fatal traffic collision on Pacific Coast Highway is currently ongoing. Furthermore, anyone with additional information about the accident is urged to contact Newport Beach Officials as soon as possible.
