Alexia Rodriguez Arrested Following a Fiery DUI Crash That Killed Three Teens

MURRIETA, CA (January 19, 2023) – Monday morning, a fiery DUI crash on Interstate 215 killed Aniyah Edwards, Angel Chavez, and one other girl.
The incident happened on January 16th, at around 4:00 a.m. on the southbound Interstate 215 connector to the southbound Interstate 15.
According to reports, Rodriguez driving a 2008 Dodge Charger, with Edwards, Chavez, and one other girl as her passengers. She lost control of the vehicle, causing it to strike a metal pole, and become engulfed in flames. The impact of the collision ejected Edwards and Chavez from the vehicle, they sustained fatal injuries. Meanwhile, the third passenger, a 15-year-old girl from El Cajon was trapped in the vehicle while it was ablaze.
First responders pronounced 15-year-old Angel Chavez, of Hemet; 17-year-old Aniyah Edwards, of Menifee; and the 15-year-old El Cajon girl dead at the scene. Additionally, medics rushed 21-year-old Angelina Rodriguez to Inland Valley Medical Center for treatment. She was later airlifted to Arrowhead Regional Burn Center.
Police later arrested Rodriguez for driving while inebriated. She is charged with felony gross vehicular manslaughter and felony DUI.
